George Long, III is the Director of Business Valuation Services. Buddy joined Bourgeois Bennett following 20 years in a local firm directing the Business Valuation and Tax departments. A former instructor and Assistant Dean at the University of New Orleans, he also has experience with a Big Four accounting firm. Buddy has qualified as an expert in business valuations and lost profits in Federal as well as several parish courts. He has valued businesses in many industries including healthcare, construction, engineering, manufacturing and trucking for the purposes of mergers and acquisitions, buy-sell agreements, shareholder disputes, estate and gift taxes, marital dissolutions, ESOPs and buy-outs. Accredited by the American Institute of CPAs in Business Valuations, he is a CPA, Certified Fraud Examiner and is Certified in Financial Forensics. A published author, he has addressed numerous professional groups regarding the valuation of businesses. Buddy holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees from UNO and has worked toward his PhD at LSU. He is a member of the AICPA, Society of Louisiana CPAs and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and is a charter member of the Financial Consulting Group. A past President and Board member of the Shell Beach Fishing Club, he is a former Board member of the Metairie Rotary Club, a member of Metairie Country Club and New Orleans Estate Planning Council. |
